Create and Use Reports

Learn how to create and work with reports in All Ears.

Updated over a month ago

With All Ears, you can easily create an analysis report that highlights the most important insights from your alerts. To get started, go to Reports in the left-hand menu when logged in.

Begin by choosing which type of report you want to create — an Overview Report, a Comparison Report, or a Time Comparison Report. To generate a report, you’ll first need to create the alerts you want to include.

Once you've selected a report type, our AI compiles the data for you, based on the alerts you choose. You can also build reports based on tags (tagged mentions) or saved searches from Archive Search.

By default, each report shows data from the past 6 months, but you can adjust the time range to fit your needs.

Each report comes pre-filled with a number of widgets, but you can customize it by removing or adding widgets as needed. To edit an existing widget, click the three dots in the top-right corner of the widget.

Widgets in the Report

Total Mentions shows the total number of mentions during your selected time period.

Engagement summarizes interactions with social media posts, such as comments, shares, and likes. This widget only appears if social media is included in your alert.

Reach is the total reach for all mentions during the selected time period. Read more about reach here.

PR Value estimates what it would have cost to reach the same audience through paid advertising. The value is displayed in your local currency. Learn more about PR Value here.

Mentions Over Time displays how the number of mentions has varied during the selected time period.

Topics highlights the most common topics or themes mentioned alongside your search terms. These are generated by All Ears’ AI.

Most mentioned by shows the sources that have mentioned your keywords most frequently during the selected time period.

Media distribution breaks down the share of mentions by media type included in your alert.

Word Cloud visualizes the most frequently mentioned words in your mentions, apart from your actual search terms.

Sentiment is an analysis of the tone and context surrounding your mentions — whether they’re positive, negative, or neutral. By understanding sentiment, you can get a clearer picture of how your audience is perceiving what you’re monitoring, such as your brand. Read more about sentiment here.

Additional widgets include: Reach Over Time, PR Value Over Time, and Most Relevant Mentions.

Subscribe to and Share Reports

You can easily share any analysis report with colleagues or stakeholders — no All Ears login required. Just click “Share” to open the report in a new window, then copy the link and send it to anyone who needs access. The recipient can view the report and follow updates as new mentions are added over time.

To keep yourself or your team automatically updated, you can also subscribe to email updates. Simply click “Add Recipient” in the top-left corner of the report, and choose how often you’d like the report delivered.
