What is reach?
Updated over a week ago

Reach is an estimate of how many people have been reached by a mention and can be used to assess the relevance of the mention.

The estimated reach is gathered differently depending on the media type. Below is an overview of what the reach is based on per media type:

  • Podcasts: Placement on topcharts or exact reach if such data is public in your market.

  • TikTok: Number of views.

  • YouTube: Number of subscribers or views. It will always be clear in your mention which of these figures is displayed.

  • TV: Public viewer numbers or estimates made by All Ears based on various data points. The estimate for TV is not exact but rather an estimate, as precise numbers are rarely made public for individual broadcasts.

  • Radio: Public listener numbers or estimates made by All Ears based on various data points. The estimate for radio is not exact but rather an estimate, as precise numbers are rarely made public for individual broadcasts.

  • Web TV: Public viewer numbers or estimates made by All Ears based on various data points. The estimate for Web TV is not exact but rather an estimate, as precise numbers are rarely made public for individual broadcasts.

  • Facebook: Number of followers.

  • Instagram: Number of views for videos and number of followers for images.

  • X (Twitter): Number of followers.

  • News Articles: Estimate based on the site’s visitor numbers and the article’s placement on the site (sections and placement within sections, front page or not, etc.). We also consider how long the article has been available and how many articles are exposed on the site overall.
