When you update an alert, you can choose how your changes should be applied.
The difference is whether they apply going forward - or to past mentions as well.
Save alert
Applies your changes to new mentions going forward.
Previously collected mentions remain unchanged.
Save & refresh alert
Applies your changes to both past and future mentions.
The alert re-runs and updates existing mentions based on your new keywords, filters, or rules.
Important to know when refreshing
Existing mentions remain and are updated based on your new settings
Manually added mentions and tags will be removed
Automatic tags will be applied again
Use Save & refresh if you want updated keywords, filters, or exclusions to apply to historical mentions - not just new ones going forward.
